My name is Michael Patric Albert. I am a senior Technical Journalism major at Colorado State University. I am a Public Relations concentration with a minor in Business Administration.
My experience in my field of study has been mostly from previous classes that I have attended at CSU, as well as some job experience working as a Marketing Assistant / Website Developer for a Denver Company called Navis Logistics and Solutions. I have worked for the company for the previous two years.
My other journalism experience has been as a reporter for the Araphoe High School monthly newspaper prior to my attendance of CSU.
I am from Littleton, Colo which is where I have lived my entire life. I also have many family members living in Massachusetts which is where I visit and vacation often. I am the youngest in my family and have two older sisters.
When I am not in school or working I like to play tennis, snowboard, read, rock climb or go out with friends. I also really enjoy playing acoustic and electric guitars.
I personally am very new to the blogging world, but would like to focus my writing around things I currently have a decent knowledge base and interest in.
I really like to collect new music and albums that are released - so I think that I would be able to inform audiences about new music. I would like to give some background behind new music artists or albums to hopefully strike an interest among readers. Some legitimate places for music news where I could gather information for my blog could include the music critic sites of Pitchfork and RateYourMusic. Target readers of this blog would be music enthusiasts in college or in their early 20s.
One of my favorite things to do is to travel, so I might also want to focus my blog around the best places to travel in Europe. This previous Spring semester, I studied abroad in Italy at the American University of Rome and had a great time. I was able to visit and learn about various different cultures across Europe. I traveled on weekends to various countries including: Italy, Switzerland, Ireland, United Kingdom, Spain and France. An idea for my blog would be to inform readers that are traveling or plan to travel in Europe of various activities or places that European cities that I have been to have to offer.
When surfing the web, I like a few specific websites for different needs I might need. I go to www.cnn.com often to see what's happening in the world.
I also am a huge fan of the band Radiohead and visit www.ateaseweb.com often to see when their new album will be released or if there is anything new with them.
www.espn.com is where I go for sports news. I am a big sports fan of the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Nuggets, so I like to check the site and see if there is any new developments with them or their team's standing.
I hope this intro might be able to give you a glimpse into my life and what I would like to discuss in my blogs every week.
